ACADIA NATIONAL PARK

In every  walk  with  nature  one receives far  more  than  he seeks . Above quote is close to my heart and I can completely relate to it especially after visiting Acadia park.
This park blew me away with it's untouched beauty, tranquillity of nature and wilderness. When I went to this beautiful place, I had not researched or browsed the net for any information about this place. I went there with an open mind and I must say, what a magical experience to be amongst one of the most beautiful place in America. Acadia National Park is a combination of marvellous beauty of mountains, lakes and ocean.

I am listing down the places visited in Acadia National Park.

Park Loop Road: This road is a one way road that takes us to different scenic locations and coastal views.

Thunder Hole: A place where during a high tide, wave crashes onto rocks and boulders and makes a thundering noise. Lovely view from the top and a thrilling sound.

Sand beach: Wow! What a Beach!!  Roaring waves looked like white horses moving up and down the shore. A vast beach, freezing cold water surrounded by stunning scenery is what you see and experience in this place.

Jordan pond: A very calm place to walk around the pond and relish the beauty of woods, mountain and lake. There are carriage trails to walk or bike. There are rocks across the crystal clear pond to sit and relax. This is my favourite place in Acadia. Nature at its best and highly recommended for those who visit Acadia.

Echo lake: We went to this lake to have lunch. The water is clear, warm and kids enjoyed here. It is a sandy beach with lovely view around. Perfect to spend time with family.

Cadillac Mountain: This is the place where first sunset takes places in US for some time of the year. This is one must see place in Acadia. You just feel like you are on top of the world when you are on top of this mountain. Sunset and sunrise from the summit is awe-inspiring.

Bar Harbour: A town in Maine. It is a charming town, lovely crowd. We went there to have a look at the cruise.

Acadia falls at number one place on my list of most beautiful places in the world.

Vermont- Breathtaking Beauty

Vermont is a state in north-eastern United States. It is a place where fall colour is renowned. Hence we visited Vermont during fall(season). We drove to this place to enjoy the scenic route.
Vermont also called as Green mountain state inherits beauty from surrounding mountains, lakes and rivers. During our 4 hour drive to this place, we could hardly take our eyes off from the windows as the route to Vermont was so beautiful. We saw cows grazing in the farms. We also saw stunning horses on farmlands. Fields looked vibrant in all shades of green. Mountains bordering these fields and farmlands looked stunning in fall colours. Mainly, we pass through the countryside roads and they just look like a painting. My face was glued to the windows to savour the whole scene of village, serene country roads, fields with brown and white cows, limpid lakes and craggy mountains.
We halted in a rented house in the night  and we headed to Mansfield Mount Park next morning. It is the highest mountain in Vermont.
We stopped by the toll road to buy tickets at the entrance. We could walk, hike, drive or take the gondola ride to get to the top of the mountain. But we preferred to drive as gondola ride turned out to be very expensive. We stopped at few places to view fall foliage. Trees looked splendid in brilliant shades of red, orange, yellow and scarlet. As we drove higher to the peak of the mountain, there were colours everywhere with leaves in full splendour.

And when we reached the summit we were blessed with a spectacular view. We could see lakes Champlain, Canada  and colourful mountain ranges from the top. I would prefer to hike if I plan to visit this place again. All in all, It was an enjoyable experience. A must see place for all Vermont Visitors.

Boston Common and Public Garden

Our U.S sightseeing:

We landed in U.S (Boston) during spring and this is one of the beautiful season which comes after winter and before summer. I love this season because of it's splendour and richness. Birds starts singing, dried grass and leaves turn into luscious green, flowers bloom beautifully everywhere.
My new friends in Boston told me to visit tulip garden in Boston Common. I was very excited and did not want to miss this opportunity as these flowers naturally bloom only once a year. So I, my husband and my son visited Boston Common and Public Garden on a Sunday morning.
Boston Common is located in the heart of the city and has a history behind the place.it is one of the oldest park in US. It is bounded by Beacon Street, Tremont Street, Charles Street, Park Street and Boylston Street. Boston Common is an open grassy space. There is a frog pond where you can sit and relax. Kids enjoy as they can splash water and play. There are two frog bronze idols outside the pond. This pond turns into a place for ice-skating during winter. Also there is a small playground for kids called as Tadpole Playground where they have many slides to play. My son had a very good time playing there and did not want to come back. Adjacent to Boston Common is the Public Garden which is a must-see place.
Public garden is on a vast area and going to this beautiful place is really worth it. Since it was spring, there was greenery everywhere. Lush magnolias and colourful tulips bordering the walk-way and sidewalk were pleasing to the eyes. We captured pictures of most of the flowers and garden. There is a beautiful lake in the middle of this garden where we found swan boats. Swan boat rides are fun but we did not get into that as there were lot of people waiting for it.We saw cute ducklings waddling through the pond .On the other side of the garden, there is a carousel for kids to enjoy. We made our 2 year old son to ride on carousel. What’s worth mentioning is the George Washington Statue here. It's one of the most attractive bronze statue i have ever seen.
What I basically liked about Boston Common is the ambience around. I saw many talented street artists. I saw a person playing Hotel California in a piano, I saw a person singing and also a person flying kite for the visitors to watch. These people make this place more interesting. If you feel tired, there are park benches to sit or you can also lie down on the grass and enjoy the sun or watch people walking around. There are food vendors who sell ice creams, candy, sandwiches and lots of other stuff.
This is a place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. This garden is spacious and open and even with the presence of large crowd everywhere, you have sufficient place to walk through the garden, sit on the lawn and rejuvenate. I would highly recommend people in Boston and people planning a trip to Boston to Visit this place. Indeed, a lovely get away in the heart of the city.

My First Flight Experience

My husband had to travel to U.S  for a work assignment with his client co. We along with our 2.5 years son were getting ready to move to U.S from India. During our preparations for the journey, I had my own apprehensions regarding travelling in flight. But I did not reveal it to my husband. This was my first travel in a plane. I went through a phase which was overwhelming with sudden rush of emotions before I left India. It was mainly because I had to leave my family in India and travel  far and also the fear of travelling in flight. However, I made up my mind to be strong and we geared up for the long journey. My main fear was the fear of flying high and also managing my kid for a long tiring journey. Once I entered the flight and the flight took off, my fear vanished. I am not sure if it was because of the flight attendants who made us feel comfortable and reassured our safety with their friendly smile. To top that my tiny tot adapted to the flight timings and co- operated well.

Once in a while, I gazed out of the window to see how it is to be flying amongst the clouds. I was awestruck by nature’s majesty. I could see the mountains with snow, blue sea beneath the swirling clouds. The view was breath-taking and I wanted to see outside the window all the time which I dreaded before I came into the plane. So first time flyers, just relax, enjoy and don’t forget to look at the clouds often.

Let go. I am writing about a word that would create lot of questions in people's mind. What does let go mean? Let go of what? Does it mean compromise or being weak? Lot of questions sprang up in my mind too when i thought of writing on this topic.

I have a positive perception about letting go. Let go is a mighty word for me. When i think of what we can let go...list goes on….. Let go of fear, let go of anger, let go of worries, let go of love, let go of the past, let go of expectations. I have come across a lot of people who have put across the definition of let go as to give up or to surrender. But to me, it is to relinquish something not worth holding on to. It is to release yourself from a duty or task to make anything and everything perfect in your life. It is to accept changes that come your way. It is to understand that when we let go of something, it would not be the end of life but rather a new chapter in your life. It is to relieve thoughts that would hurt you. Letting go would be to liberate yourself or others from uncontrollable situation. It is to accept others as they are. Finally it is to face life's realities with an open-mindedness.
